News Round-up - Summer 2022

Heatwave (fire) Flowers
12 exclusive new mini paintings are now available in my shop.

This exciting new venture within my painting is exploring a new strand within my Native British Trees series - fire flowers.

They are only available for a limited time, each painting is only £75 (including free UK postage).

A % percentage of all sales will be made to a Wildfire charity to help repopulate lost woodlands.

Native British Trees at New Art Exchange

I have 6 monochrome paintings currently on show at the NAEOpen22 at New Art Exchange, in Nottingham.

The NAE Open intends to be a platform that supports the development of artists and raises their profile. Beyond the public exhibition itself, eight prizes will be awarded. These include the £1,500 Public Choice Prize which visitors to the show can vote for. Read more about the prizes.

All the winners will be revealed during the awards ceremony on 12 August. Book your free ticket to the ceremony.

Studio updates

Lots of activity happening in the studio at the moment, something new is being cooked up (very floral, as you can see in the image above). I’m really looking forward to sharing them with you - hopefully in a show.

Latest Curatorial Project:
Young Gainsborough & Illuminating the Wildnerness

2 July to 13 November, Nottingham Castle

Twenty-five recently discovered landscape drawings by English artist Thomas Gainsborough were presented in the exhibition Young Gainsborough: Rediscovered Landscape Drawings, paired with the film Illuminating the Wilderness, by 2021 Turner Prize nominees Project Artworks, which charts the pleasures and challenges of neurodiverse responses to the landscape. Both exhibitions, presented as a double-headliner, examined the enduring human relationship with nature.

I haven’t seen much press around this show yet, so I do hope people get to see it. The pairing is really beautiful.
